The Sheffield Revue is just a drop in the water when it comes to the Sheffield comedy scene. A glory hole which leads to a whole clump of comedy events and groups around the town. Here are just some of them:
Shrimps: Friends, partners, neighbours, rivals, disgruntled lovers. The Shrimps are Sheffield uni’s improv comedy society. They’re really good at making stuff up. They hold workshops on Wednesday that are open to everyone. Check out more about them here.
Sturike: Years and years ago a bunch of Sheffield comedians got together a decided to make a podcast. They’re still going. New podcasts every Sunday. Find out more here.
Big No No: A bi-weekly, free open mic comedy night which takes on every other Tuesday of each month at DINA. Hosted by a comedy collective, it’s a fun, relaxed evening of brand-new stuff. Find out more here.
Regather Comedy Club: Comedy extraordinaire Sean Morley runs a monthly comedy night over at Regather Works. Past headliners have included acts such as Robin Ince & Phil Kay. More information is available on the Regather website.
Sheffield Improv Jam: An improv night held on the last Thursday of every month that anybody can perform at. Play short improv games and meet new people. Welcome to improvisers and non-improvisers alike. Find out more here.
